Wedding Venues in Northern Ireland
16 March 2023
In the past two years I have photographed 28 wedding venues in Northern Ireland. I want to share with you some important factors. Photographers look at things differently. We are able to skip past the menu options, room layouts and pricing. I want you to imagine today is the day and your ready to rock!
Distance from church or have they a license for ceremonies. Some wedding venues in Northern Ireland offer indoor and outdoor locations. Where will bridal prep take place and can you stay the night before? What is their policy for multiple weddings, have they a dance floor? If important, is the bar inside the room? What about flexibility on decor, can the room be personalised? Have friends or family used the same venue recently?
We are thinking, whats it like on a wet day, have they indoor options? Are backgrounds busy, will the lighting be harsh? The gardens, are they mature, do they offer shelter or are they exposed? Are there pathways incase the grass is wet? Even in summer wedding venues in Northern Ireland can be unpredictable. What features look good at night, are the staff helpful and do things run on time? My fav, do they serve the photographer a meal??
Below I listed my top 5. Mainly around the North Coast, all for various reasons and in no particular order.
For civil ceremonies, Galgorm Resort & Spa is one of the most popular wedding venues in Northern Ireland . I love working there and think it is possible to opt out of the photographers offered in their all inclusive packages. Please also read my guide on choosing your wedding photographer for more advice and info.
Hopefully this guide to wedding venues in Northern Ireland highlighted a few things. If your getting married and haven’t booked a photographer, please use this form to get in touch. I usually have bookings 2/3 years in advance, my diary is always open.
