Planning a wedding comes with approximately a million little questions — and that’s totally normal! From packages and timings to what happens if it rains (spoiler: we’ve got you), you’ll find answers to some of the things couples ask most. What happens if you’re sick Paul?
It’s a very valid question, and thankfully, in 30 years, it’s only happened twice.
I’m friends with so many great photographers in the industry, so if I’m ever unable to photograph your wedding, you won’t be left without someone. I’ll make sure you have a choice of another professional photographer who can step in and capture your day.
How many hours do you shoot?
I’ve never really liked putting a strict number of hours on a wedding day.
There’s so much that happens before you even reach the aisle from the excitement of getting ready, the quiet moments with your closest people, the nerves to the laughter and then, before you know it, you’re on the dance floor celebrating.
That’s why my approach is simple: I’m there for the story, not the clock.
Of course, every wedding is different. If you’re planning something smaller or simply don’t need full-day coverage, that’s absolutely fine too. Get in touch, tell me what you’ve got planned, and we can work out an approach that suits you.
Do we need to choose a package now?
No, you have enough decisions to make right now!
There’s no need to have everything figured out straight away. We can meet in person before your wedding day, have a catch-up and chat through exactly what you’re looking for, so we can make sure everything suits you and your plans.
Do you offer hourly rates?
If your wedding is on a peak-season weekend, booked 1–2 years in advance, then probably not.
But every wedding is different, so send me some details about what you’re planning and we can have a chat about it. We’ll see what we can work out.
Do you offer two photographers?
I can bring a second photographer if you’d like one, although I’ve always worked solo and that’s how I prefer to shoot.
A bit of planning beforehand usually means there’s no need for a second photographer. We can work out timings and locations so I can be where I need to be, without you having another photographer to coordinate with on the day.
And just to reassure you — every photograph you see on my website has been taken by me, myself and I!
Do both couples get prep coverage?
Of course, where the locations and timings allow it, I’m more than happy to cover both sides getting ready.
It really just comes down to planning the morning properly. We’ll talk through where everyone is getting ready, what time things are happening and what you’d like covered, then work out a timeline that allows me to spend time with both of you.
How long until we receive our pictures?
I know you’ll be keen to see them, so I don’t like keeping you waiting around for months.
During peak season, you can usually expect your photographs within 2–3 weeks. In the quieter months, it’s generally around 1–2 weeks.
And, if I’m being honest, having an outstanding balance is a pretty good incentive for me to get your gallery finished and delivered!
Are same-day social media files possible?
Yes, as long as I’m staying for the evening.
While you’re having dinner, I can find a quiet corner of the venue and go through the photographs from earlier in the day, picking out a few favourites for you.
It means you can have a handful of photographs ready to share that evening, rather than waiting until your full gallery is finished. I won’t disappear for half the night editing though – I’ll still be there to photograph the party!
